Minoxidil: How Long To Let It Sit
The key to using Minoxidil is making sure it reaches your skin. You can leave Minoxidil on your face for 4 hours and after that you can rinse the area with water. It's also recommended to use lotion after you've rinsed the area. Minoxidil can dry out your skin and sometimes cause skin irritation so using a Aloe Vera based lotion will be beneficial.
There can be negative effects if you leave a large amount of Minoxidil sitting for too long. The negative effects will be more pronounced if you have sensitive skin. The most common issues you could experience from to much exposure are: redness, bumps, itching, burning, and general irritation.
Where On Your Face To Use Minoxidil?
For one reason or another some of us don't read the instructions that come with that we buy. I've seen guys applying Minoxidil on top of beard hairs as if it were beard oil and I've seen people apply it and wipe it away within 30 seconds. You might can imagine what kind of zero results they saw.
Minoxidil should be used on the trouble spots of your facial hair. If you have a patchy beard you should use it on the spots where hair isn't growing. I personally could use some to connect my mustache to my beard or to fill that area in more. It's these spots where Minoxidil excels and you'll see a real impact.
Take a moment to examine your facial hair. Identify your weaker spots and make a mental note of them. These are the spots you're going to want to use Minoxidil. It's a product used to promote hair growth in weaker areas. Once you've tackled your weak spots you can move on to the rest.
You can use Minoxidil to grow a thicker beard as well. Once you've tackled those trouble spots you can re-apply Minoxidil throughout your entire beard. However it's important you make sure the product reaches down to the base of your skin. Since you've grown some facial hair at this point it becomes more difficult to achieve this in a satisfactory way.
You're Playing The Long Game
Minoxidil isn't going to work over night. It's going to take you several months and possibly year(s) to see the full benefit Minoxidil can offer. That's why it isn't for everyone. Not everyone has the patience or the want to use a product every month and have to wait that long to see results.
If you want to read more on how long you should expect to wait for Minoxidil to work click the link in the above paragraph. I've written a unique separate article in this topic but just know you're going to need a minimum of 6 months to see any results.
Minoxidil Beards Before and After
While the above images look promising I don't want to lead you into any false hopes. Because the truth is that everyone will react to Minoxidil differently and you may achieve either weaker or stronger results.
Some people experience results way before the 6 month recommendation. The first image shows a guy who has had good results after only 3 months. I hope your journey with Minoxidil will be just as fruitful.
